My journey began with painful periods at fifteen and led to years of questions.

After an ablation in 2022 and countless appointments, I finally underwent complex excision surgery on November 13, 2025, a day that marked the beginning of my renewal. Solitude has taught me that strength often grows in silence. I am not merely surviving; I am transforming. This is my story, one of resilience forged in loneliness, and hope reclaimed step by step.

Recovery is often described as a time when support surrounds you—loved ones bringing comfort, encouragement, and hope. My recovery after surgery looked nothing like that. I faced criticism, assumptions, and an unexpected loneliness that settled over everything. What should have been a communal healing became a solitary path, shaped by misunderstanding and emotional exhaustion. The weight of isolation showed up in small, painful ways. I reached out, checked in, sent messages, and tried to maintain connections, but was usually met with silence. Something as simple as hearing someone ask, “How are you today?” became more valuable than I ever imagined. My struggles weren’t momentary inconveniences. They were constant, draining, and deeply intertwined with both my body and my emotions.

Recovery also forced me to face the reality of a changed body. Movements that used to be effortless suddenly required strength I didn’t have. The deep, radiating pain from endometriosis made me dependent on others for even basic tasks. Asking for help came with humiliation, because accepting help meant acknowledging that I was no longer capable of managing everything on my own. My body—once familiar—felt fragile and uncertain. I had to rebuild my identity alongside my physical abilities.

The hardest battles were fought internally -anger on the surface, fear and loneliness buried deep—always afraid of being a burden while longing for acceptance. However, choosing excision surgery became my act of hope and a reminder that even the smallest steps forward are still progress.
