Skip to main content This project is being conducted by a team of researchers, clinicians, educators, and community representatives from the University of Tasmania, Western Sydney University, University of New South Wales, University of Adelaide, Deakin University, McMaster University, Endometriosis Australia, and EndoHelp. This project focuses on the role of nurses in endometriosis-related patient care. Researchers would like to understand the skills or knowledge a specialist endometriosis nurse may need and people’s experiences of providing or receiving trauma informed care for endometriosis.
Who can participate?
We would like to learn about a broad range of views and experiences from nurses and women and gender diverse people with endometriosis. We invite:
- Australian and New Zealand nurses who are currently practising, regardless of their experience or level of involvement in endometriosis care.
- Australian and New Zealand women and gender diverse people with self-reported symptoms of endometriosis, aged 18 years or older, regardless of their experiences receiving endometriosis-related nursing care.
What does the research involve?
The online survey asks questions about endometriosis-related symptoms and knowledge, healthcare decision-making, and how nurses could be involved in endometriosis care, and any barriers that would make providing or accessing nursing care difficult.
The online survey takes approximately 10 – 25 minutes, depending on the amount of information you would like to share with us. You will also have an opportunity to provide an email address once you have completed the online survey if you would like to take part in an interview. The interviews are completely optional and completing the online survey doesn’t mean that you must take part in the interview. Interviews allow us to learn more about your specific experiences in detail and provide an opportunity for you to share information that we may not have covered in the online survey.
The option to take part in an interview is available to both nurses and women and gender diverse people with endometriosis.
